Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Vodka
3 oz Tomato juice
1/2 oz Lemon juice
1 pinch Pepper
3 drop Tabassco (to taste)
1 dash Worcestershire sauce

Garnishes

1 stalk Celery

Glass

Highball (Rim with mixture of celery salt and pepper)

Preparation

In a rimmed tall glass, combine all the ingredients and stir well. Fill the remainder of the glass with ice and stir once again. Garnish with a celery stalk.

Description

A Bloody Mary is a cocktail containing vodka, tomato juice, and other spices and flavorings including Worcestershire sauce, hot sauces, garlic, herbs, horseradish, celery, olives, pickled vegetables, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, lime juice and celery salt.

History

The Bloody Mary was invented in the 1920s or 1930s. There are various theories as to the origin of the drink and its name. It has many variants, most notably the red snapper (also called Bloody Margaret), Bloody Maria (made with tequila blanco), and the Virgin Mary.
